The team at JILS Blog takes immense pride to announce that one of the blogs published on its website titled “(Evolving The) Law in the Time of Corona – A Critical Analysis of The Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897” has been cited by the well-acclaimed Professor Dr. Upendra Baxi in his article on India Legal Live titled “Emerging Laws & Jurisprudence”.
It is indeed a moment of pride and happiness that JILS Blog, after making strides in publications and popularity in the current academic year, has come into notice and the reading books of eminent scholars of the legal fraternity. We take this moment to mark this particular feat of the JILS Blog Team and also extend our gratitude to the JILS Board for providing unhindered support in the review process.

Following is the excerpt from the Article referring to the publication on the JILS Blog :
“Moreover, as Ishan Bhatnagar and Ritesh Patnaik (two National Law University, Delhi, second-year law students) have pointed out, the “prophetic” aspects of the Public Health (Prevention, Control and Management of Epidemics, Bio-Terrorism and Disasters) Bill of 2017 seem to have guided much of the anti-Covid-19 law and policy action today. Whether the continuation of colonial laws after 70 years of the working of the Constitution or whether the DMA provides ek dhakka aur do (give one more push) to the crumbling citadel of constitutional federalism should furnish some interesting post-Covid-19 concerns.”
